The details behind
the comparison.

See what we include, how we calculate costs, and what a ranking does—and does not—tell you.

Energy quote rankings

The energy tool ranks only the quotes you enter, from lowest to highest calculated annual cost. The formula is annual kWh × final unit rate in cent ÷ 100 + annual standing charge + other annual charges − eligible credit. Enter all applicable charges and use a consistent VAT basis. A saving is relative to the highest-cost entered quote, not an independent estimate of your current bill.

Flat-rate limitations

The tool assumes a constant flat rate and the consumption you enter. It does not estimate time-of-use, demand-based or dynamic tariffs. It does not predict future prices. An illustrative example is labelled and uses fictional quote names.

Broadband costs

The broadband tool combines introductory and subsequent monthly prices across the entered contract term, adds setup costs and subtracts eligible credits. The effective monthly cost is the total divided by contract months. The tool does not model unknown price adjustments or verify address availability.

Mobile plan selection

The initial table covers selected published plans from 48 and GoMo. Rates were checked on 9 October 2026 using the linked provider sources. GoMo’s standard price-list rate is used because promotional pages can differ. First-year cost assumes twelve monthly payments plus the published once-off activation fee. The table is not exhaustive and does not establish the cheapest plan in Ireland.

Provider directory

Providers are listed alphabetically and can be filtered by service. Inclusion is an editorial reference, not a paid placement or endorsement. A listing is not proof of a supplier partnership. Provider names are used to identify their services.

Editorial process

Guides explain comparison methods, use worked examples where helpful and link to official sources for applicable Irish processes. Review dates identify when the content was checked; they are not a promise that rates or terms remain unchanged. Readers should verify current details before applying.

Commercial disclosure

There are currently no commission-paying referral links. If partnerships are added, we will identify commercial links and disclose the arrangement. Calculated cost rankings should continue to use the stated method rather than the amount of commission.

Accreditation
