What is Businesses.ie?

Businesses.ie is an independent Irish company-information service built around public Companies Registration Office records. Visitors can search by legal company name or CRO number without creating an account. Profiles present registration information, while the website also advertises director searches, filing research and register updates. It is separate from the official CRO and CORE services.

Start with the correct legal entity

A brand on a van or website may differ from the name of the company behind it. Match the CRO number on a quotation, invoice or contract to the company record you find. If several names look similar, use the number rather than choosing the first result. For example, when comparing two service quotations, record which legal company issued each one alongside its price and contract terms.

What does a paid report include?

The published report description lists company identity, available current and historical officers, filing history and financial highlights extracted from accessible accounts. It also describes AI-assisted summaries and risk indicators, with source notes and limitations. Available information varies by company. These summaries are not official CRO certificates or credit-bureau scores.

Published prices and monthly plans

Businesses.ie lists a single report at €9.99. Its monthly Starter plan advertises five reports for €19, Pro lists 25 for €49, and Enterprise offers up to 70 for €99. Pro also advertises watchlist change alerts and CRO deadline reminders. These are the published prices checked on 12 October 2026; confirm the billing option and checkout total before subscribing.

Can a business manage its profile?

A separate Verified Business service offers profile editing and branding after its verification process. Published annual prices are €99 for Basic and €249 for Pro. A platform verification badge reflects that service’s checks; it should not be interpreted as government endorsement.

When might it be useful?

Businesses.ie is worth considering when you want a free first lookup followed by optional reports or recurring research tools. Before paying, identify the company, list the questions the report must answer and check its advertised contents. Registration details alone do not establish whether a supplier will perform a contract. Our Businesses.ie and CompanyReports.ie comparison explains the differences between the two published offerings.
